Production method of zinc stearate

TIME:21-09-18    NUM:0

There are two production methods of zinc stearate: water method and melting method. Generally speaking, zinc stearate produced by the water method is acidic, and the melting method is alkaline.

The water method is also called wet method. Under the condition of water as the medium, a catalyst is added to control a certain temperature and pressure, and then a metal hydroxide is added. The metal ions are replaced by the catalyst on the catalyst, and then the catalyst is replaced by the stearin. Acid, so as to achieve the purpose of generating metal salts. The catalyst undergoes post-processing and is recycled. The stearate is centrifuged, dried, and ground to obtain a product with a mesh number of 200-600 that meets industry standards. Water production usually has a slight excess of stearic acid, so the finished product appears acidic after the reaction.

The melting method is also called the dry method, which means that the metal oxide (indirect method zinc oxide) is directly added to the molten stearic acid (of course, under the presence of a catalyst, otherwise the conversion rate of the reaction will be very long) Control a certain temperature, pressure and stirring speed to obtain stearate through reaction. The products produced by the dry method can be completely reacted due to the presence of the catalyst in general reaction results, and the metal oxides are slightly excessive, so the product is alkaline when tested.
